Death Knell
As Mel & I left the mall today, the two guys responsible for dismantling the winter kiosk had already arrived. If I was actually working tomorrow, by the time I arrived at the mall in the morning, there'd just be a whole lot of open space where the kiosk had once stood. While I'm sure Mel's disappointed that there will be open space as opposed to the ash-ridden remains of a flaming kiosk, we'll still settle for a great deal of nothing.
And so another chapter in "the hell that is my job" closes for one of us. Not that Mel's really objecting. She gets to sleep in again, for starters, and can spend a lot more time relaxing and focusing on her courses. Shady will be equally elated, since she's been increasingly despondant every time Mel & I leave for our shifts. Not only will Mel be around for greater portions of the day, but Shady will also be enjoying a lot more car rides than before.
Beyond that there's not much else to say. Dinner shall be cooked. Rice will be eaten. Something will be watched, and if I'm particularly lucky, snippets o' stories will be written before the night is out. So, enjoy your own nights as I try to enjoy mine.
(Oh, and did I mention I'm enjoying my night with a distinct absence of pants?)
Today's Lesson: sleep in whenever you get the chance. You'll be glad you did.
